TRANSCRIPT: [STEL] Hi, my name is Stel Valavanis, I am the founder and CEO of onShore Security. When we founded the company in 1991, our mission was clear, we loved tech and we wanted to enable businesses; getting people on the internet for the first time was among the more exciting things that anyone in the IT services space can do.
By the late 90’s, we were servicing financial services companies and handling their cyber security. Fast forward to 2015, when we decided we had to completely focus on security; it was becoming the most important part of our business, and more importantly, it was becoming the most important concern to our customers. And then we said to ourselves “Well what’s our purpose now?” We were able to answer that question.
When we thought about it, we thought about our original drive to enable businesses, and that that drive was now challenged, compromised by cyber crime. It’s something that makes us diminish what we had set out to do and what we had so successfully done in that time. We realized what was being taken away from our customers is that freedom to innovate, to grow. It’s really about trying new things and taking on new technology, something that we always championed; that was now being hindered by cyber crime. So we’re driven, we’re driven to give that freedom back. Because security gives us freedom.
