onShore Security’s background in software development and experience as an ISP has helped us to push our security monitoring far beyond what many others offer. In his newest video blog, Stel discusses what real security monitoring is and how we’ve built our platform.
Transcript: “Hi, I’m Stel Valavanis, CEO of onShore Security. A lot of people have raised their hands, just this past year, calling themselves Managed Security Providers. A lot of them are simply doing automated alerts and calling that security monitoring, even calling it analysis when they have some auto-correlation. We’ve gone way beyond that. We’ve been doing this for a while. Our background is in software development, especially in the open source world, doing large transactional software, and, in the ISP business, where we cut our teeth on large networks: unprotected, uncontrolled, where you get really good at monitoring and understanding what data looks right and what data doesn’t. Today, we have a mature platform that we started building in 2004, initially for the banking industry. We’re detecting for threats, anomalies, compliance. Our analysis, now these days, using Elk Stack, is very advanced and, of course, we constantly innovate, always building new tools, integrating off the shelf components, building tools to fill in the gaps, creating extra tools to make analysis quicker for analysts, and of course this all feeds into our systems for rich reporting and a lot of visibility. We call this approach Panoptic Cyberdefense, meaning “all-seeing” and if you give us a chance, we’ll show you exactly what this special background we bring to the table does for you. Thank you very much.”
